How do I stop my cats from fighting?

by Darlene

I have three cats, all rescued from bad situations. All are fixed females. The oldest was about a year old when we got two small kittens. She was fixed at the time and adopted the kittens as her own.

I've had them for three years now, and they were best buddies until yesterday. They all got into a major fight and the youngest sisters won't leave their adopted mom alone.

The biggest one keeps attacking her. I had to put her in a room by herself for her protection.

I don't want to get rid of any of them. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Separation is a good start

I don't know why the fight started, but you've got a good start by separating them (make sure they can't see each other). Then, slowly reintroduce the cats, starting with scent.
