Why is my cat doing this?

by Parmida
(Australia)

I have a 2-year-old female black domesticated cat and whenever she is relaxed, she first starts purring, drooling and kneading but the drooling isn't the concern.

My concern is why does she rub her nose on her nipple and knead my stomach as if I'm the one nursing her and later, fall asleep?

Does she try to simulate as if I'm her mother and I'm nursing her? Just for a side note, there has been no redness no swelling on her nipple.

Sounds normal

Cats instinctively knead. We call it making biscuits around here. There is speculation that this behavior is a holdover from the time when they were kittens and nursed.
