What to do when one cat dies and the other is left alone now?

by Anonymous

I have had these two cats from when they were tiny kittens. We found them outside in the back yard. They are from two different litters but the same mom, different dads. They have been together for about 18 years.

One of them just passed away and now the other is missing her, of course. They have always been together for 18 years.

What can I do to comfort or make the one remaining stop meowing so much. We live in an apartment and we are not supposed to have any animals. So him meowing is gonna be a problem.

Plus, I want to make him feel better. I just don't know how, other than lots of attention. I just wanted to know if there was anything I could try to ease his pain. Thanks.
