Recently neutered cats getting along

by Bethany St Andrew

I have three male cats (among some older fixed ones). Two of the cats are littermates and 18 months old. The other cat is 3 years old. I just recently had all three neutered. The 3-year-old and one 18-month-old are status post 4 weeks and 2 days. The other 18-month-old is 2 weeks and 2 days after.

My problem is the two littermates got along well until hormones started kicking in and they all seemed to come at the same time. I kept the first two separated in rooms for a week and now they seem to be fine. But the last one hisses and runs from his littermate every time he sees him.

They have been separated for nearly 2 months and I tried to introduce him back for several days, yet he will not be friendly. The other cat he sniffed and then ignored. Of course he tries to ignore me too as he is not the most friendly cat there is.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to overcome this problem? As of now, I have the luxury of being home frequently but I will be going back to work and need to find some way of resolving this.
