Why is my cat urinating blood?

She had one lump in her stomach then two then three then four, etc. She is urinating blood and does not seem to be defecating.

Cat urinating blood
by: Judy

It really upsets me that you waited so long before you took your precious cat to Vets! One of my cats had a cold so I googled it and it said a feline cold could get much worse so fast and could develop into something more serious so off to vets the next day and now she's on meds and doing better. There's no way I would take any chances on my pets well being! My sincere condolences for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear that your kitty had cancer and I'm sorry to hear that you had to make that painful decision.

Good Grief P.S.
by: Odile

I wasn't judging you - I was upset that you didn't appear to have a sense of urgency. The cat didn't go from 1 lump to 4 overnight! I have been in your shoes for sure - having to sacrifice one thing to pay others. That is no fun. The worst part to me is that you have lost your special friend- that is heartbreaking. We are still mourning the loss of our once-in-a-lifetime cat who died 13 months ago. I wish you peace and hopefully at some point another kitty will bring joy to you. At least you know this one won't suffer any more.

Get your cat to a vets ASAP

Your cat needs to see a vet URGENTLY. It could well be a kidney infection as my cat was peeing blood in his water but it could easily be something more serious. Whichever it is, your cat will be in pain. There are vets who are available 24 hours. I do not know if like our area you have an animal hospital that is also open 24 hours a day, whichever a vet will see you straight away once you say your cat is passing blood in its water.

To Odile

How blessed you are to have the money to see a vet without waiting for payday, and paying the mortgage first. Having done those two things, I took her to the vet on Friday. She had cancer, and the vet said "It would not be inappropriate for you to let her go." She has been my best buddy for almost eleven years, and I was so tempted to have her a while longer. The vet told me it would not be fair to her, and I knew she was right. The bill was $265 for euthanasia and cremation. They are letting me pay in three payments. This year we will have a pretty slim Christmas dinner... but Jesus is the reason for the season, not dinner And gifts. Again, you are blessed. Evidently more than you realize. Maybe you should not be so quick to judge others? Just saying
