What to do with my stray outdoor cat when I am on vacation?

I have a stray cat that lives outside like 80% of the time, but he is inside here about 1 - 4 hours a day. It depends. He is very nice and cuddly and he seems to really like me, and I have been feeding him.


But I am going on a vacation for one week. What can I do? I am thinking about letting a friend live here and feed him while we are gone. I am just scared he won't come back when I am home. Is my idea good or what can I do?

There are no guarantees with stray cats. They can come and they can go, but I think if you get him used to your friend now, it might help.

I would see if your friend can come over and feed him along with you, play with him, and so on. That way, he'll know your friend when you go away.
