Since my husband's surgery, our cat is totally ignoring him. What's up?

BB is a 6-year-old, female house/outdoor cat. She's in great health, secure, loved and obeyed! She is very connected to my husband and me.


Two weeks ago my husband had a double knee replacement. He spent 4 days in the hospital. Since he's been home she totally ignores him. She won't even go into his room.

She looks but wants nothing to do with him? Puzzling- What do you think is going on?

It sounds like she's been thrown off her game. Your husband may have had "hospital smells" on him, or it may have been his absence, or simply the dramatic change in routine. She'll come back around in time.
