How do I stop older cat from chasing younger one?

by Kelly

I have two 2 year olds and a 1 year old male. A few months ago, I brought my 10 year old female down and introduced them slowly. Now the older female is chasing my 1 year old male out of the house or up the stairs and down.

I think she’s very territorial of the living room. But she just did it again from my son's bedroom to the kitchen window where they come in and out. What do I do? Any help appreciated. x

You could separate them
by: Sally F.

If it seems like a real problem (more than just play or working out the hierarchy), you could separate them and help them work it out. That's really the only way I know to stop a cat from chasing another.

At this point, if it's not too serious, they may just work it out on their own. You might want to show your older cat extra attention and give her extra playtime, so she knows she's still top cat with you.
