We just lost our little black cat as she was outside and ran away. I did not want anymore cats. We had to get cat food at PetSmart so my husband ran in to buy food while I was in the car.

My husband came out 15 minutes later and was excited. He said, "You have to come in the store, there is a really cute kitten you have to see."

He was the biggest kitten in the litter. He was gray and white with big white paws and big green eyes. He was adorable. He was there to be adopted.

He was being fostered by Janice Skinner who was a foster mom for Voorhees Animal Orphanage in NJ. I held him and he meowed at me and that was it... he won my heart and my family's as well.

We adopted him at 6 weeks and he passed on on 12/26/2013 to Rainbow Bridge at the ripe old age of 18. He would have been 19 in June.

He now is with his brother Ziggy, running and playing. I remember the days when he and Ziggy would play and chase each other up and down the stairs.

Cosmo loved catnip. He loved to play with his mouse and his balls. He went to plenty of tea parties with his sissy Jordan and Ziggy whether he liked it or not... LOL.

I have so many memories of him that I will keep and treasure forever and ever. I love you Cosmo and always will my sweet boy. You will be in our hearts forever and ever!

What a great story
by: Jessica Britton

Aww what a wonderful story. So sorry to hear about your loss but at least you found him and got the chance to adopt him and give him the love and attention he deserved. I'd say he was meant for you and you were meant to find him, and even though he's no longer with you I'm glad you got the chance to give him a longer life and he's not suffering anymore. He will always be with you no matter what.

19 years old! Wow. He had a great life with you and he sounds like a sweetheart. Condolences on losing such a special kitty (and his brother).

My heart and prayers are with you. Cosmo brought so much happiness to your lives. We had to put our Patches to sleep on the same day that Cosmo left. I think she will take good care of Cosmo. She was always there for us. You take good care of yourself. Cosmo would expect nothing less. Huge hugs.

Giving our love and making memories
by: Debra

I'm so sorry for your loss, but feel happy for all the wonderful memories you have of Cosmo.
How caring of your husband to not let the loss of the little black kitten fester in your heart! He knew you had a heart big enough to love another kitty!
We have to realize that our pets won't likely outlive us, but if our hearts are big enough, we can make new happy times for others who need love too. Cosmo will thank you forever for all the love you gave him. <3

Oh, very sad for you. But a new kitty might heal the hole in your heart.
