Callie
Callie showed up at our house one Fourth of July weekend. It was blazing hot, and we had seen her running loose in the neighborhood for some time.
Certain she was in need of an emergency cool down, we brought her inside and gave her some cool water. Several hours later she was the owner of my hubby's heart!
When a neighborhood search revealed that her owners had recently moved and left her behind, we claimed her as ours. She was an older cat, but was mostly healthy, and a healthy diet and plenty of love soon had her looking her best.
She enjoyed her life with us for nearly two years. She passed away after having a stroke, and left behind several broken hearts. Miss Callie will never be forgotten.
