My cat has been urinating all over my clothes

My cat has been urinating all over my clothes, suitcases, and sleeping bag.

I have traveled to Germany from Canada with my little feline cat.

It has been a couple of days that she has not pooped. Meanwhile she has been urinating all over my suitcases and my clothes, and last night she's done all over my sleeping bag.

She never had any problem with the litter box. It is not the first time we have traveled together. She also had stayed at my friends houses but never had this problem before.

I am a little worried that she is not pooping and concerned about her urinating all over the place. Please help.

My Thoughts: I would contact a veterinarian for help as this seems severe. If it turns out she's not having a medical issue...

Is this the longest trip she's ever taken? If so, maybe it was too much for her and she is frightened and stressed.

After a long trip, bowel problems and dehydration aren't uncommon, but urinating everywhere may mean that she's not adjusting to the new environment well.

When you first brought her to the new place, did you set her up in a small room? This is usually best as that would allow her to only worry about a small territory.

If she were my cat, I would first rule out a medical problem, and then I'd assume she'd been traumatized by the trip.

There are various options to reduce her anxiety level and make her feel more secure. These options include products that help to calm (Rescue Remedy, Feliway), crating and/or room confinement, and in extreme cases, drug therapy.

The first thing I do when I bring a cat to a new environment, is confine the cat to a small room and spend as much time as possible with them in there. I've made the mistake in the past of not doing this, and it's often just too stressful on the cat to let them loose.

Once a few days have gone by and they've calmed down, litter box habits are right, and they're used to a routine, I start letting them experience more of the house.

I hope that helps and please let us know how it goes,

Kurt

cats respectable
by: Cheryl

Moving or traveling stresses cats out and you take them out of their environment and what surroundings their used to so,they are telling you that. Keep the cat in the carrier in a room for an hour or,so they can calm down a then open the cage and let them walk out freely.
Animals are not like people.

They do get colds, feline leukemia.etc...
We need to respect as much as possible They are only on this earth for a short time.

I find Feliway is a complete waste of time and money!
