Frantic, prolonged litter box pawing

I just noticed my 4-year-old Frida pawing at her litter box. She had just pooped, frantically pawing at the corner, for a long time. I looked and it (poop) was covered... Litter is everywhere! She kept at it for quite a while.

Is this normal? Her box was clean, pretty full of litter. Seriously pawing at the corner.

Thanks,

Deborah Bueti

Not uncommon
by: Sally F.

It's not uncommon for a cat to go a little crazy in the litter box at times. It's also not uncommon for a cat to spend some time pawing the side of the cat box. I don't think it indicates a problem unless there are other problems that go with it.
