Cat has cuts and flies have laid eggs in them?

My cat has two huge cuts by her butt and flies have laid eggs in them. What do I do?


My cat just had kittens when I notice she has a major cut on her butt and a second one I noticed today. Some flies have laid eggs in the cuts.

I'm not sure how your cat got the cuts, Stefanie, or how we can prevent that from happening in the future, but that's a concern. I'm also not sure how we know these are fly eggs, but it sounds like the wounds need to be professionally debrided at the vet's office, sutured if needed, antibiotics administered, and so on. It's time for the vet on this one right away.
