Cat going potty outside the litter box after other cat had kittens

by Nani
(Maui, HI)

Bonnie and Clyde were buddies since we found them. Bonnie got pregnant (from Clyde, who we fixed right after we figured out she was pregnant) and had 3 kittens.

Now Clyde won't use the litter box to poop. He goes wherever he wants. Bonnie stays in my room with her 1 week old kittens and Clyde comes in occasionally to hiss and growl at them and leaves.

I know it went from Bonnie and Clyde to Bonnie and her babies... and Clyde. But I don't know what to do about him pooping all over the house or how he's going to act when the kittens start exploring.
Any help is appreciated!!

The Box

Something about the box - he needs his own. I’ve got 1 cat and 3 boxes, all together. Something I had to figure out about her to stop her from going on the outside of the box. 1 pee, 2 poop and I scoop & flush daily. She lets me know every day when to do my job and she gets really vocal to change litter after 3 - 4 days. For some a confined space might also have something to do with keeping it all in a box. She got my small powder room and all is fine. It works out. I use the exhaust fan often.

A little separation does a kitty good

It sounds like Clyde needs his own room or area of the house all to himself, complete with litter box and all, until this blows over.
