Bartholomew County Humane Society

"To the world you may be just one person, but to one life you may be the world."

The Bartholomew County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that cares for homeless animals in the Bartholomew County area. We depend entirely on generous donations to properly care for these animals asking for a second chance at life. The Humane Society can have anywhere from 80-140 cats at one time!

Everything needed to provide for these animals on a daily basis such as food, litter, medication, cleaning supplies, vaccines, and even the beds they sleep on, rely completely on contributions made from the community.

We also greatly appreciate volunteers to help care for the animals 365 days a year. Walking, grooming, fundraising, socializing, fostering, and donations are what keeps us going!

Some of our pets up for adoption can be seen at http://www.happydog.petfinder.com

My rescued Siamese!
by: Judy Stanley

This is an excellent shelter. Wish there were more like it. I rescued my Siamese cat from there two years ago and he was in excellent condition after being out on the streets for awhile. Thanks to all who work there. They are a very pet friendly shelter and deserve more praise. I hope they get enough money to build their new shelter as they were very crowded and not very good conditions for so many animals.

Thanks, Ashleigh, for listing your shelter. As always, I hope many cats find good homes through your organization!
