When you drill down into the names, you'll see that Tigger is described as a boy cat's name (although I have seen that name applied to females as well). Still, I'm not so sure that list is quite right.
Unusual Pet Names
If "regular sounding" female cat names like Kitty, Sassy, and Samantha seem too common for you, and you need suggestions, help is on the way.As of this writing, Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI) claim they have over 470,000 pet names in their database. They've been compiling data on pet names for years. For the last couple of years, they've been publishing the top 50 wackiest pet names from their customer database. VPI customer Wendy Moritz made the 2008 list by choosing to name her cats something clever based around the breed. She named her brother and sister Egyptian Mau pair "Toot Uncommon" and Cleocatra. VPI's list of the top wacky female cat names from 2008 include other interesting entries such as Rosie Posie Prozac, Miss Fuzzbutt, and Sparklemonkey. The top 2009 winners sport names such as Eartha Kitty, Polly Prissypants, Lady Deathstrike, and Dishwasher. Oh, and believe it or not, Catzilla is a girl!
