Orphaned kitten not grasping the concept of going in the litter box

by Susi

I've raised this kitten from only days old. The mother was dead. Had no problem weaning

her, but she is content to poop or pee in her bedding or as she is running across the
floor.

I say she's an immature 8 weeks old. I keep her in a cage with a blanket and
litter box and she still poops and pees in her bedding.

I have tried all kinds of litter, and
use low sided cardboard boxes to hold litter. It's not hard to keep the box clean when she
doesn't use it! She's more interested in playing than anything else. I guess she didn't get the instinct from her Momma. Momma was an outside stray. Trying to be patient!

Try Cat Attract
by: Sally F.

Have you tried Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract? You might want to also add some grass and a bit of dirt to the litter to see if that stimulates her to use it. Other than that, keep putting her in there after she eats, sleeps, or exercises. Patience is key!
