Shoes

by Tammie
(Scappoose, Oregon)

I rescued Shoes out from under an old abandon house with her brother, Bones and two other sisters when they were about 7 weeks. The two other sisters found homes together in Eugene, OR but I kept Shoes and her brother Bones.

I lost my beloved Shoes on October 16th 2010 from Leukemia, she was 13. This was the most difficult decision to make as I was told from several vets that chemotherapy could extend her life. But for how long? And to what extent would I have to put her through to keep her around longer? I just couldn't do that to her.

She was a little scaredy cat. She was terrified of my husband and he adored her. She was afraid of lots of things around the house so she kept to herself a lot. But she loved me and trusted me to the fullest. We were bud's and I can't believe how much I miss her. She will be in my heart forever!

Shoes
by: Catcalls

It always amazes me how attached we get to our pets. They forever impact our lives and, hopefully, make us better people by teaching us to love and show compassion. I think it must be a testimony to your love that allowed Shoes to trust you and feel safe with you. I am so sorry you are without her. May you find comfort in her memory.
