Rusty from Richmond

by Linda Sindeldecker
(Richmond, MI)

Rusty was a beautiful, orange 6-toed cat. He normally weighed about 20 pounds. He was a big boy. He was a gentle giant.

He found a baby robin one day that had fallen out of the tree. He brought it to me in his mouth. He dropped it and the bird was completely unharmed. I realized how gentle he was.

He loved to be in the garden with me, digging holes, just being outside.

His love for both my husband and I is missed so badly it hurts to talk about it even after 3 years.

I love you, Rusty, and Lucy will be with you - but not too soon. I can't tolerate losing you both right now. Wait for me and Dad at the bridge.

Love you, baby, love you forever.

I do feel sorry for your loss. I lost my 23 yr. old Minoush recently. She came to me when 3 weeks old and left for the rainbow bridge at the age of 23. She was a shy cat. Didn't like strangers neither did she like to be petted. She was a real "lady"cat. I called her my "morning star" because she was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.
Minoush... you were my companion and the joy of my life. I miss you so and won't forget you.

Sorry about your loss. We to have a big Tabbie who is about 23 lbs. He is very loving and wouldn't harm a fly. He is 12 years old and we got him along with his brother, who is somewhat smaller. Both cats were left with us 12 years ago to watch for three months while a room addition was being built on the owners house. Needless to say thy never came to reclaims the cats and had moved away. We have had both since. Our big guy's name is Prince and as I said before is a very loving cat. He sits with me most of the time and is a excellent companion.
