What does it mean when your cat won't eat or drink?

What does it mean when your cat won't eat or drink? He's walking really slow and discharges from the mouth.

My cat's an outside cat and now he refuses to go outside and he's always hiding, he never pees in front of anyone but he just did. Something isn't right.

Editor's note: Correct. Something isn't right.

There could be many things wrong with your cat, but the first thing that comes to mind is that he may have been poisoned. This requires immediate medical attention from a qualified professional.

If he were my cat, I would take him to the veterinarian or emergency vet clinic immediately while simultaneously calling an animal poison control center or the vet's office on my cell phone.

I hope he gets better quickly.

Lizards
by: Dave

It's possible that kittie may have eaten a, what we call in Florida, a Skink Lizard, not sure if that's the real name or spelling. It's multiple colors with a purple or dark blue tail and slick looking. My Moms cat ate one and had quite a few of the same symptoms. It caused him to go deaf! It is definitely a Must to go to the Vets! He was treated with steroids and he did recover but it took a while! Hope this helps!
