My cat drags stuffed animals

by Elisa
(Floresville, TX)

We have 2 male cats. One is red fluffy, and the other a grey tabby. The grey tabby has dragged my daughter's stuffed animals from the bedroom into the living room. He also has dragged another daughter's boots or a pair of jeans into the living room. He's not destroying anything, just curious as to why he does it.

Some cats are pack rats

You're not alone, Elisa...

@catloversonly My tabby does the same. Watch yours carefully once he has them in the living room - mine believes they're his girlfriends! :)

There are many stories of cats being "draggers of things" and even hoarders. Remember Dusty the Cat Burglar (also referred to as Klepto Kitty)? He's brought home hundreds of items.

Here are some other collectors of stuff...

Some believe that this behavior may be a form of "kitty OCD" -- some kind of obsessive-compulsive behavior. There's a story about a cat named Shotsie, from the book, The Ultimate Cat Lover...

"Every morning, each little stuffed chicken, duck, turkey, cat, and dog goes down to the food bowl, and every afternoon they come back upstairs."
